How to Contribute to ScienceBookGuide.com

Reviewing and cataloging every good popular science book
ever written may be a little bit ambitious for a couple
of people working part-time. Help us! Here are some ways to contribute:
- Send us your suggestions by email to
editor@sciencebookguide.com. We're interested in
suggestions for:
- Titles of books to review, especially those that
fill obvious gaps.
- Short quotes from popular science books
for our 'Quote of the Instant' feature on the
front page. The quotes need not be from books
that are currently in the Guide. We like quotes
that are eloquent, memorable, or amusing.
- Good examples of phenomena for our
Time Scales and
Size Scales pages.
One particular need is clear and vivid examples
of things that happen very quickly.
- Post your comments to the
ScienceBookGuide Forum. Any topic directly related
to science, scientists, science education, or the books
in the guide is welcome. (Off-topic or abusive postings
will be ruthlessly deleted, and may result in the Forum
becoming moderated.)
- Become a reviewer for the ScienceBookGuide.
We only want reviewers who are motivated by a true passion
for the task, so here are some discouraging things you
should know:
- There is no monetary reward.
- In addition to writing a review for each book,
you must fill out an involved web-based
questionnaire about
the book. (This enables us to slot the book into
our various classification schemes.)
- Even when you've done that, the review will not
appear on the site until we are satisfied with it,
which conceivably might be never.
